☽Childhood☾
Sanae is the young daughter of Sanosuke Harada and Sayaka Kishimoto, she along with her twin brother Satoshi were born some months after their parents defeated Kodo Yukimura. She was born and raised in the Manchurian Plains in the hopes that she and her family could live a peaceful life, she was taught how to defend herself by her father but she secretly watches her father and brother train together so that she become even better at it. Her parents often told her and her brother about their time in the Shinsengumi back when they lived in Japan and all the friends they had, Sanae was often very curious about them and told her parents that she wanted to go to Japan and meet them all. A few years into the Meiji Restoration Sanosuke decided to bring his family back to Japan for show the children where they had come from, they had no idea that they'd ever run into any of the other members of the Shinsengumi. Not long after he suddenly felt very nostalgic about the Shiei Hall where he had met the other members of the Shinsengumi, he decided to take his family there to show them how it all started. They were all surprised when they found out that they weren't the only ones feeling nostalgic about the Shiei Hall, all the other living members of the Shinsengumi wanted to see where they got their start. After spending a lot of time showing their families around the place and occasionally telling stories from their time in the hall, they all decided to have a feast the next day in the evening so they could fully sit down and catch up on everything they've missed over the years since they all split up. Sanae was very excited about getting to meet up with the other kids since they didn't have much time to get to know each other when they were at the hall, she was happy that would be able to be friends with all of them like her parents are with their parents. She was especially happy that she'd be able to get to know Souji Okita's son Sojiro because he really interests her, she doesn't know why she finds him so interesting.
☽Adulthood☾
As Sanae got older she started to hone her skill with the spear that she had learned from watching her father and twin brother, when she felt proud enough about her skill she showed her family who were surprised but happy for her because of all the progress she had made on her own. Not long after that her father began to train her along with her brother, it soon became apparent that Sanae was better with a spear than her brother was and she picked up what their father taught them a lot quicker than he did. Over the next few years she continued to train and spar with her father and brother, her relationship with Sojiro Okita continued to grow as well over the years. Once Sanae turned 20 years old she left her parents' house and set out to find her own place in life, she travelled around for a few months before she found a nice little place to settled down in and set up her own small tea house. She decides to name the tea house the "Shiei Hall Tea house" after the place where the Shinsengumi first formed and were her father had met the other members, she wanted it to be a tribute not only to her parents or her friends' parents but to the other members of the Shinsengumi that passed away. It wasn't long before not only the tea house but Sanae had a reputation in town, it soon became known that anyone that caused trouble or insulted anyone Sanae cared about inside her tea house would have to deal with her and would likely be thrown out into the streets with their tails between their legs. As long as she is shown respect then Sanae is a very friendly hostess and loves to talk with all her customers, she is more than willing to help someone in need if they stumble into her tea house but she is relentless if someone tries to take advantage of her kindness. Despite the fact that she owns a tea house she still practices with her spear, she even keeps it mounted on the wall in case she should ever need it. Whenever the tea house is closed she is often spending time with Sojiro or with her other friends if they decide to visit, occasionally when she decides to close the tea house for a little while she will go to visit her parents to see how they are doing.
